Lake Monster Brewing is excited to announce the release of its newest Year-Round brew: Most Most Hazy IPA
The popularity of Hazy or Northeast IPA’s as exploded in the last couple of years in the Minnesota beer market. A variation on traditional American or West-coast style IPA, the Hazy IPA focuses less on hoppy bitterness and more on the juicy, tropical flavors of newer American hop varieties and balances the hops with a softer body and signature opaque appearance.
“We knew if we jumped into the Hazy IPA game we had to come out with something that was really on point, not release a hazy beer just to do it.” says Lake Monster Brewmaster Matt Lange. “We spent a good part of 2019 playing with the style and tweaking the recipe to get it just right, and I think we have a really great beer that’s ready to hit the market in cans.”
Most Most Hazy IPA starts with a blend of base malts, dextrin malts and both malted and unmated oats to give the beer it’s smooth mouthfeel and body. Then huge additions of hops in the whirlpool, hop-back and across multiple dry-hop additions lend the beer a huge tropical citrus flavor and aroma with an easy bitterness.
“With the huge popularity of the Hazy IPA style I expected the beer would do well at our taproom, but the overwhelming response as soon as we put it on was still surprising,” says Lange. “It’s at the point that if we don’t have a hazy IPA on tap people are very disappointed. It’s definitely time to put this beer out as a year-round offering.”
